Last night, we had the pleasure of accepting the prestigious TIGA Award for Heritage in Games! This incredible honour recognizes our innovative work in blending cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology, a combination that has become central to our mission at Sugar Creative.
The TIGA Awards are a hallmark of excellence in the video games industry, and winning in the Heritage in Games category is particularly meaningful for us. This award specifically acknowledges the success of projects like 878 AD: Winchester Revealed, where we’ve used augmented reality to bring the history of Anglo-Saxon Winchester to life. The recognition underscores how immersive experiences can offer new ways for people to engage with history and culture.
The evening was made even more special by the opportunity to celebrate alongside our talented team and our incredible partners, including Ubisoft and Hampshire Cultural Trust. Their collaboration and shared vision have been instrumental in making projects like 878 AD a reality, and this award is as much theirs as it is ours.
We are deeply grateful to TIGA for this honour and to everyone who has supported us on this journey. This award inspires us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the intersection of gaming and cultural heritage.
